A short history of the German College

1982 First German class in the ÖZ for prospective foreign students
1990 Foundation of the "Non-Profit-Making Organisation for the Promotion of University Applicants and Students from Abroad". First teachers employed on permanent contracts
1991 Co-operation agreement with the students’ union of Stuttgart University allowing course participants to use the facilities of the union (refectory, students’ halls of residence, etc.) on payment of term fee.
1998 Adoption of the name "Language College in the ÖZ"
2001 Additional courses in classrooms rented at the VDI in Stuttgart Vaihingen
2002 Employment of a manger for the German College
2004 Adoption of the new name “German College Stuttgart in the ÖZ”
2004 German College licensed as TestDaF-Center
Today 8-10 intensive courses annually, each attracting approximately 180 participants, from over 115 countries
